When the QuickList comes up for the first time, you are presented with pretty much everything you can find in your local Safeway or A&P. I figured I would jump right into Groceries, though for the most part I tend to buy the same things every week and only use a list if something out of the ordinary is needed (i.e. There is also an option to Edit (Reuse) lists and create your own. The sample lists include Groceries, Gifts, Books, Clothes, Movies, Music, Travel Checklist and Wine. This is actually a great idea because you aren't fumbling around trying to figure out what to type into the various fields. What SplashData has done is provide you with a number of shopping lists that you just need to modify. To me it seemed like typing up lists on my Centro would be kind of tedious, so I opted to use my normal keyboard to create a list on my PowerBook that could be synced up to my Centro. I was really curious to see if SplashShopper was worth every penny and a good use of my time.Īfter downloading SplashPhoto to my Centro and my PowerBook, I decided to launch the desktop app first. And since the desktop version ran on Mac OS (Version 10.2 or later) and Windows computers, I figured this was something worth checking out. for your $29.95 investment, you basically get two apps that should play nicely with each other. It is described as an app that "offers a powerful and easy way to manage everything from grocery shopping to holiday gift lists to keeping track of DVD rentals." First introduced seven years ago, in February 2002, this app lets you manage multiple shopping lists on a Palm OS handheld and desktop computer. So with that in mind, and after having such an awesome experience with SplashData's SplashPhoto app, I thought I'd give SplashShopper (SRP $29.95) a try. Rather than waste energy on wistful ponderments, we ought to focus on some of the many apps that have been developed for the Palm OS platform over the years (remember. Those of us carrying a Centro or Treo may suffer from iPhone envy due to the sheer volume of affordable apps that are available for that platform. Yeah, the idea of "reduce, reuse and recycle" doesn't come into play with this approach.Īlong came Apple's App store, and with it a reminder that there are all kinds of ways you can accomplish things quickly and efficiently from your smartphone. Upon returning home, and sometimes the minute youve walked out of the store, that list gets crumpled and tossed away. SplashShopper: "Long in the Tooth," List Manager Still Has Legsįor many of us, a shopping list is something scribbled on a notepad or Post-it thats crammed into a pocket and pulled out when visiting a store.

The Clemson, at this tier, has the same problem. At earlier tiers, no torpedoes had enough range to be used while undetected meaning you will be shot at if you want to get close enough to use them. But I took this chance to give a little diversity to the list and explain the Japanese destroyers a little. If you want to fight other destroyers, pick the Clemson. Why this ship is the best: At tier IV the matchup between the American and Japanese destroyers came pretty close. The Nassau also has faster firing guns than other battleships at tier III which can help make up for the bad accuracy of low tier guns. While in the low tiers, battleships with the most armor are generally going to to well because no one has enough range to be safe while they shoot. It has a bunch of armor and good secondary guns which shoot by themselves. Why this ship is the best: Nassau is a simple ship to play. In higher tiers, the low maneuverability would be a huge downside to just about any cruiser but in tier III it honestly doesn’t matter. Louis moves very slow but is actually able to fight battleships pretty easily with how much firepower she has. It has 10 guns, with less rate of fire, but with more damage per shell. Louis wins tier III for the same reason the Dresden won tier II. Following the same characteristics otherwise keeps this gun boat on top in tier III with more Americans to come. Why this ship is the best: The Wickes is just a Sampson with a couple more torpedoes and a little more speed. Realistically, you won’t be able to get that many because you don’t want to be turned 100% to the side which means you can’t use all 10 at the same time. The Dresden has 10 guns that can shoot 12 times per minute meaning you can shoot up to 120 shells per minute. In early tiers the most important thing for a cruiser is to have plenty of DPS. Why this ship is the best: The Dresden takes this spot because it has so many guns. They also have some of the best smoke in the game which is great for supporting your team. Focusing on guns while having plenty of torpedoes to back them up, American destroyers will bully others off of capture points if not outright kill them. Why this ship is the best: You’re going to see a lot of American destroyers on this list, because simply, they’re just the safest destroyers to play. Being a little faster makes it a lot more fun to play compared to the others, which feel like they broke down and now you have to paddle them. I put the Hermelin on top though, because it’s fast, and it shoots fast. That being said, tier I ships don’t have enough differences for it to really matter. Also, playing in a tier I ship, you will never come across anything but other tier Is. There’s only cruisers, they only have HE shells, and have no other abilities besides repair party. Why this ship is the best: Tier I is basically it’s own game. Happy new year! With a large scale aircraft carrier update planned, they were left out of this article, but I tried ranking everything else(except premium ships.) Also, please note that there's a slight rock paper scissors element involved in WoWs so the best ship for one match may not be the best for every match. What are the best ships in World of Warships? Limited backup and sync: One account can only have a single backup task, and you cannot select already synced folders or their parent/child folders for a sync task. And do not support certain file and drive types like. Limited sync files and drive types: Syncs a maximum of 500,000 files and degrades performance if exceeds. In this article, we are going to dive deep into its management interface, Synology Drive Client, about its features, pros and cons, and how to configure and use it to backup and restore Synology NAS in detail. Its file sharing, collaboration features, and simple management, such as user permissions, file locking, versioning, and Synology Drive Client, make it an ideal storage solution for both home and business users. The former two are the most popular ones and the choice between Synology vs QNAP NAS is a matter of opinion.īut some prefer Synology because of its ample storage capacity, ease of use, data backup capabilities, and wide range of apps to meet various needs. Lots of NAS brands like Synology, QNAP, Asustor, TerraMaster, etc.
So I know this is kind of a coding/programming topic also but it's primarily a mechanical adjustment aided by using the ISTA+ diagnostic tool. Now, use a 10mm spanner to turn nut-A two complete turns in a As the engine builds pressure the vacuum line connected from the turbo compressor housing to the wastegate actuator overcomes the spring and opens the valve, releasing backpressure and controlling boost. There is plenty of travel to accommodate this, and the flow/pressure ratings of the turbo are significantly higher than the 20 psi rated for the Cummins engine. Furthermore, this mass migration must now occur five or six times per season. Moreover, this does not include the thousands of die-hard fans who religiously travel to all the away games. While that may not seem like much, remember that the average traveling party for a football team is around 100 members including players, coaches and support staff. A single round trip (economy class) from RDU to San Fransisco emits 1.04 metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. But, given that it is infeasible for a visiting team to drive across the country, a larger share of away games will now require flights. In the old days when conferences followed the rules of geography, most away games could be reached by bus, which is far more environmentally friendly than air travel for short trips. Never mind that Palo Alto is 2,380 miles away from Durham. Not to be left behind, the ACC sounded the death knell of the Pac-12 by adding Cal and Stanford. Still reeling from the loss of its two biggest members, Texas and Oklahoma, the Big-12 responded decisively, snagging four Pac-12 schools. Hardly constrained by insufficient state and federal regulations or the toothless NCAA, conferences realized schools were willing to enter a Faustian bargain with the highest bidder.Īs the SEC and Big Ten gained sports hegemony with their additions of flagship institutions such as Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Maryland and Rutgers, the remaining 3 power five conferences felt they needed to play the acquisition game to survive. These changes - though minor - awakened conference commissioners to the power that they possessed. With the advent of cable TV, conferences realized adding more TV markets to their portfolio would supersize earnings, spurring the realignment revolution. But this harmonious balance of power was quickly upended when in the early 2010s conferences began to poach other schools - including the notable moves of Missouri and Texas A&M from the Big-12 to the SEC and Maryland from the ACC to the Big Ten. The other power five conferences also were geographically compact, limiting the need for long flights or travel across time zones. Just a mere 20 years ago, the ACC contained eight teams (three of which were in the Triangle), with the longest trip a visiting team would have to make being 732 miles from Florida State to the University of Maryland. Only when conference realignment eventually runs into the realities of climate change will the foolishness of universities be exposed. However, these concerns get drowned by trivial discussions of a potential Stanford-Duke rivalry or what the new divisions of an 18-school ACC will look like. That travel will emit billions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, despite many universities identifying climate change as an institutional priority. Conference realignment entails thousands of miles of transcontinental travel on a weekly basis. The shocking gambit evoked plenty of punditry from the sports world - mostly reminiscing about the tragedy surrounding the downfall of the ‘ Conference of Champions.’ But the real tragedy lies off the field. The ACC is posed to gain over $600 million from its contract with ESPN as a result - and that doesn’t include revenue earned from other multimedia companies. While ACC executives framed the move as necessary for survival in the anarchic world of college sports, it is apparent that the primary motivation for this move was TV revenues. Like a vulture feeding on a rotting carcass, the ACC capitalized off the surprisingly swift decline of the Pac-12 (the most prominent college athletic conference in the Western US) to expand its national appeal. 1, the ACC unofficially became the All Coast Conference after its additions of Stanford, Cal and SMU. i have to laugh because now, if you read all the posts in this thread, to this point… all the people who made an aussie or british account to play the game, who are now wondering if they can keep their progress and play the North American version… are about to find out that if you want to purchase any upgrades using US dollars at the playstation store… they’re gonna be SOL. and now gaijin comes to the us playstation blog and is gonna say, “Our idea was to present PS4 players in North America with the latest version of the game”…? seriously? every reply i ever read was gaijin blaming sony for the delay in north america. Four exoskeleton variations for different combat specializations will be available for you: Assault, Sniper, ATGM Operator. Description: Military online action War Thunder is starting open testing of advanced modern infantry equipment in urban combat, available in playable event until April 16th. all gaijin ever did was blame sony for the delay. War Thunder - Mobile Infantry Update Trailer. still, on most boards involving war thunder, including the official website, americans kept clamoring for a north american release. i’ve had this game for months now, thanks to my british account, since it never seemed like it was going to launch in north america. Wow… someone at sony sure held someone’s feet to the fire at gaijin for them to say this on the us playstation blog. We can’t wait for launch, and we’re are preparing something special for PS4 players - stay tuned to PlayStation.Blog to hear more details soon! Our idea was to present PS4 players in North America with the latest version of the game, and today we’re proud to announce that War Thunder is coming out on June 3rd and it includes the Ground Forces expansion from the start! And, of course, all of the other exciting features found in the latest 1.41 version of the game - 350 different planes, squadron battles, 150 different multiplayer missions, and single-player campaigns and scenarios. This simulates the realities of war where different army branches always supplemented each other in battles. This addition allows players to control armored vehicles such as tanks and anti-air guns which are fighting planes in some of the game modes. There were several major updates for the PC version of the game since November, including the launch of the Ground Forces expansion pack. The most important part is that War Thunder is an online game and it evolves constantly. For us in Gaijin Entertainment, this new generation of of gaming is all about experimentation and new business models, and War Thunder is a prime example of this: a cross-platform, free-to-play, massively multiplayer historical combat game. At the southernmost part of the TAT in central Mississippi, I turned down a damp red-dirt road and headed east. The thing about being in way over your head is that you usually don’t realize it until you’re actually in way over your head. “If it gets too rough, I can always turn around.” Not always easy to do on a steep, rocky trail. But I couldn’t dally because yet another hurricane threatened to make a bad situation worse. I found refuge in the college town of Oxford, where I checked into a hotel, ordered a steak for dinner, and enjoyed a rest day waiting for things to dry out. In Mississippi, the remnants of Hurricane Marco darkened the skies, and rain turned the TAT into retreat-from-Stalingrad, diaper-full-of-diarrhea sludge. “Worse comes to worst,” he said, “it’s not too far to hike back here, and I can get ya out.” The gracious host of the motorcycle-friendly Lodge at Tellico lessened my anxiety by sharing some strategies on how to manage them. The two worst ones – which you see most often in YouTube videos of TAT-ending epic fails – occur the first 10 miles after you enter the Volunteer State, one right after the other. For many, the hardest part of the TAT east of the Mississippi is the myriad of water crossings in Tennessee. Why isn’t this man in the AMA Hall of Fame already?īut it wasn’t easy. I could smell little creeks, pines, and vegetation, the very earth itself.Ī proud moment with TAT progenitor Sam Correro in front of his house in Counce, Tennessee. I could sense the temperature and humidity changes around each dip and turn. Narrow lanes and gravel roads weaved between red barns and fields of mowed pasture, eventually climbing into cool, dark forests. Virginia is lush and green, and the rain brought out flowers and butterflies. The storm had passed, and it was a beautiful day with blue skies and cooler temperatures. Removing the pressure to complete the entire TAT lifted a heavy weight from my shoulders. The revised plan was to put Oregon out of my mind and just focus on getting home. The TAT dipped into central Mississippi, and from there it was only about three hours to my house. I decided I was unlikely to make it all the way to Oregon as planned. The 500 EXC-F is an enduro, the last thing you’d want to ride on the freeway, so I’d have to take little secondary roads back down south. Shipping it home would be expensive and take a month. If I bailed out, I’d still have to get my KTM back home to Louisiana. Impending rain and nightfall on a desolate part of the TAT in Virginia meant it was time to find gas and shelter. I made my way north along the Outer Banks and felt lucky to snag a room at an overpriced roach motel in the ominous-sounding village of Kill Devil Hills. My KTM was overloaded with an expedition’s worth of gear plus a now-pointless beach towel, umbrella, mask, and fins, making it as unwieldy as the rattletrap jalopy of the Joad family in The Grapes of Wrath. Now I was doing battle with cars and RVs trying to outrun a hurricane. I had flown into Norfolk, Virginia, with plans to pick up my bike and spend a week at the beach with friends before starting my solo journey on the TransAmerica Trail. It was August 2020, and Hurricane Isaias was bearing down on the East Coast just as I was about to start my “Adventure of a Lifetime.” The storm was expected to make landfall right where we were standing at North Carolina’s Cape Hatteras National Seashore.Ī month earlier, my KTM 500 EXC-F had been loaded on a truck in Louisiana, bound for Outer Banks Harley-Davidson. “You realize that we’re moving to mandatory evacuation,” the park ranger told me as I pulled up to the campground kiosk to check in. There were beautiful views along the spine of the Ozark Mountains.
